Annual Salary Minimum: $40,004.00
Annual Salary Maximum: $43,000.00

Duties & Responsibilities: The Education Audit Division is the largest of nine divisions within the State of Georgia Department of Audits and Accounts. The Division's primary duty is to perform annual financial and compliance audits and reviews on:
State Colleges and Universities; State Technical Colleges; and Public School Systems.

Headquarters is based at the State Capitol complex in Atlanta; with regional offices in Athens (Bogart), Augusta, Calhoun, Douglas, Leesburg, Macon, and Statesboro. Occasionally, overnight travel is required within the State of Georgia and varies by assignment and location.

Duties include, but are not limited to:
•Performs specific procedures or tasks as assigned by the auditor-in-charge.
•Writes narratives and conclusions based on the results of testing and findings derived from the procedures.
•Conducts interviews with client personnel and performs walk-through of transactions to assist in gaining an understanding and testing of internal controls.
•Prepares working trial balances for specific funds or account groups using financial statements, accounting records, etc.
•Organizes working papers to be used in writing the final report.
•Obtains prior-year working papers, reports, and other documents and materials that are necessary to begin an engagement.
•Assists in preparing final drafts of reports.
•Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Training & Experience: POSITION SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS: Completion of bachelor’s (four year) college degree with emphasis in Accounting from an accredited college or university.

Skill in oral and written communication; planning, organizing, and prioritizing work activities; analyzing and interpreting data; and grammar usage and report-writing techniques.
