Work Ready Assessments - Update

ATTENTION: The Atlanta Assessment Center will be closed on Monday, February 20, 2012. Work Ready Assessments will not be offered on that day.

Effective March 1, 2012, SPA will no longer administer the Work Ready assessments. Individuals wishing to take the assessments after this time should contact the Governor's Office of Workforce Development at 404-463-5030. Through February 29, 2012, Work Ready Assessments will be given on Monday and Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.

To earn a Georgia Work Ready Certificate you must take all three (3) of the following assessments:

  • Reading for Information
  • Locating Information
  • Applied Mathematics

Each test takes approximately 55 minutes to complete. You will need to bring a photo ID with signature to the testing session. You must be 18 years of age or older, a high school senior, or an individual who is in an approved GED program who is at least 17 years old.

Also, any individual actively seeking employment in the State of Georgia may take the tests.

You can earn a Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum certificate. Work Ready Certificates are awarded based on the lowest level earned in any of the three (3) assessment areas listed above even though individual scores in one or more sections may be higher. You should receive your certificate within 7 to 14 days.

Bronze - a minimum score of three (3) on any of the assessments
Silver - a minimum score of four (4) on any of the assessments
Gold - a minimum score of five (5) on any of the assessments
Platinum - a minimum score of six (6) on any of the assessments

You may take each assessment three (3) times within a one year period. You can re-take all or any of the tests after successfully completing Skills Gap Training. If desired, you can be enrolled in the Skills Gap Training when you complete testing at SPA's Assessment Center.
