Job Description:
POSITION: Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism Management Instructor
LOCATION: Blairsville, GA
DESCRIPTION: The Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism Management Instructor is responsible for delivering engaging, career-focused instruction in hospitality, restaurant operations, lodging, tourism, guest services, and related areas. The instructor will prepare and teach courses, support student learning and career development, maintain an inclusive classroom environment, and incorporate current industry practices into the curriculum. Major duties include:
- Plan and deliver instruction in hotel, restaurant, tourism, and hospitality management
- Develop lesson plans, assignments, assessments, and instructional materials aligned with course and program outcomes
- Provide students with hands-on learning opportunities and real-world examples from the hospitality and tourism industry
- Teach topics such as front-office operations, housekeeping, food and beverage service, restaurant management, customer service, tourism principles, event planning, and hospitality marketing
- Assess student performance and provide timely, constructive feedback.
- Maintain accurate attendance, grading, and student records
- Advise and support students regarding academic progress, career options, internships, and employment opportunities
- Incorporate technology, industry standards, workplace safety, diversity, and professionalism into instruction
- Maintain current knowledge of hospitality and tourism trends through professional development and industry engagement
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, advisory committees, and industry partners.
- Follow institutional policies, procedures, and applicable accreditation or regulatory requirements
- Perform other related duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associates degree in Hospitality Management or related field *OR* Associates degree in Management and three (3) years of in-field experience
- Teaching or training experience in a postsecondary, adult education, or workforce development environment
- Relevant industry certifications or licenses
- Experience using instructional technology and learning management systems
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree in Hospitality Management
- Experience teaching at a technical college
