Lanier Technical College is conducting a search for the following part-time, non-benefit eligible, hourly position. NOTE: A background and reference check are part of the selection process. POSITION: Part-Time Clinical/Lab Assistant - Radiologic Technology (RT) Program, HALL CAMPUS
REPORTS TO: Radiologic Technology Program Director
SALARY: TBD; up to 29 hours per week
EFFECTIVE: Immediately
RESPONSIBILITIES:
This part-time position serves as an integral member of the instructional team and is responsible for both clinical and laboratory student evaluation and instruction. Primary duties are to visit and evaluate students in the clinical environments in the Lanier Technical College service area and maintain interaction and communication between clinical site preceptors and the College. Secondary duties are to facilitate high-quality laboratory learning experiences for students in the Radiologic Technology program. Under the supervision of full-time program faculty, the role includes assisting with instruction in patient positioning, radiographic procedures, and patient care within the laboratory setting. The individual will collaborate closely with faculty to deliver structured lab sessions that reinforce and enhance didactic content that will promote student comprehension, technical proficiency, and clinical readiness. All instructional activities are conducted on the Hall Campus in Gainesville, Georgia.
Clinical responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Visit all clinical affiliates on a scheduled basis
- Serve as a major public relations officer to the clinical affiliates on behalf of the program
- Maintain up-to-date communications with all clinical preceptors regarding student schedules, student progress, and student competencies
- Understand, communicate, and enforce student adherence to current radiation safety practices and program policies in the clinical environment
- Provide proper student guidance and/or counseling when needed
- Orients new students to his/her clinical sites
- Evaluates students for competency and ensures consistent competency evaluations from all affiliates
- Provide proper student guidance and/or counseling when needed
Laboratory responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Provide individualized instruction to reinforce concepts and skills taught in positioning and radiographic procedures courses
- Assist with and facilitate laboratory sessions in positioning, procedures, patient care, venipuncture, and sterile technique
- Observe, assess, and evaluate student performance during laboratory check-off examinations in accordance with program standards
- Accurately complete, process, and submit student evaluation and testing documentation in a timely manner for official program records
- Maintain proficiency in radiographic procedures, patient care practices, and laboratory instruction techniques
- Ensure a safe, organized, and effective learning environment within the laboratory setting
- Other work-related duties as assigned by full-time program faculty

EDUCATION AND MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate's degree in radiologic technology AND demonstrated competencies in specific course content/coursework; OR a technical diploma in Radiologic Technology AND an associate's degree in a health-related field AND demonstrated competencies in specific course content/coursework
- Graduate of a JRCERT accredited radiologic technology program
- Must have current American Registry of Radiologic Technology in Radiography [R.T.(R)(ARRT)] credentials
- Documents the equivalent of two years of full-time clinical experience in the radiologic technology profession
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Clinical Preceptor in JRCERT accredited radiologic technology program; demonstrates proficiency in student supervision, instruction, and evaluation
- Documents the equivalent of five years of full-time clinical experience in the radiologic technology profession
- Previous teaching experience at the post-secondary level, experience with online teaching platforms
