Job Summary
The Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities is seeking a Board Eligible Physician to provide comprehensive medical care and psychiatric evaluations for individuals with behavioral health and developmental disabilities.
This position is at Georgia Regional Hospital Atlanta, located in Decatur, GA.
Job Responsibilities
* Conduct thorough medical examinations, psychiatric assessments, and diagnostic evaluations for individuals with diverse behavioral health and developmental needs.
* Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including medication management, therapy recommendations, and lifestyle interventions, in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team.
* Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging studies, and other diagnostic procedures to aid in diagnosis and treatment monitoring.
* Provide crisis intervention and emergency medical care as needed, ensuring the safety and well-being of patients.
* Document all patient encounters, treatment plans, and progress notes accurately and in a timely manner within the electronic health record system.
* Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and professional development activities to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
* Educate patients, families, and caregivers on medical conditions, treatment options, and disease prevention.
* Adhere to all departmental policies, procedures, and ethical guidelines, maintaining patient confidentiality and professional boundaries.
* Collaborate with other healthcare providers, community resources, and support services to ensure coordinated and holistic patient care.
* Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and program development within the department.
Job Qualifications
* Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
* Completion of an accredited residency program in Psychiatry, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or a related specialty.
* Board Eligibility in Psychiatry, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or a related specialty. Board Certification is preferred.
* Valid and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of [State Name, if applicable, otherwise omit].
* Current DEA registration.
* Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and treatment planning skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations, families, and colleagues.
* Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative interdisciplinary team.
* Proficiency in using electronic health record systems.
* Knowledge of state and federal regulations pertaining to behavioral health and developmental disabilities services.
* Commitment to providing person-centered, evidence-based care.
