General Duties:

The Dean of Academic Affairs is responsible for providing leadership, direction, and administrative oversight for academic programs, faculty, and instructional services. Responsibilities include supervising academic personnel, programs, and services; ensuring the consistent implementation, review, and revision of academic policies, procedures, rules, and regulations; promoting instructional programs to public and private organizations; and collaborating with Human Resources to coordinate faculty recruitment, hiring, credential verification, onboarding, and performance management. The Dean oversees accreditation attainment and maintenance activities, recommends curriculum revisions, program additions, and program terminations, and ensures compliance with Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG), Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), and other applicable regulatory requirements. Additional duties include reviewing course evaluations, overseeing faculty and staff development plans, approving instructional purchases and curriculum materials, managing enrollment and registration processes, resolving student concerns and complaints, overseeing departmental budgets and financial operations, developing and implementing policies and procedures, evaluating personnel performance, assessing program effectiveness, and performing other duties as assigned. This job also includes overseeing parts of the operation of the Crisp County Campus.

Education Requirements:

A master's degree from an accredited college or university in education, business, public administration, or a related field is required.

Minimum Qualifications:

Candidates must possess a minimum of three (3) years of experience in academic administration, educational leadership, instruction, or a related field. Applicants must demonstrate knowledge of postsecondary vocational and technical education, strategic planning, program assessment, curriculum development, accreditation standards, and budget management principles. Candidates must possess strong leadership, organizational, interpersonal, and decision-making skills, along with excellent verbal and written communication abilities. Proficiency in computer applications and job-related software programs is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in a technical college, community college, or higher education environment is preferred. Experience with accreditation processes, workforce development initiatives, and instructional program administration is highly desirable. Supervisory experience are preferred.

Physical Demands:

Work is typically performed in an office and educational environment requiring extended periods of sitting, standing, walking, speaking, and using standard office equipment. The position may require travel between campuses, attendance at meetings, conferences, professional development activities, and community events. The ability to communicate effectively with faculty, staff, students, and external stakeholders is essential.

Background Requirements:

Candidates must pass a criminal background check and MVR.

Compensation:

Commensurate with education and experience. All new hires are subject to a one-year probationary period
